Birth Ceremonies – Blessingway
Honouring the imminent birth of a baby through a special ceremony, often called a blessingway (from Navajo culture), is a beautiful experience for a woman entering motherhood. Joined by a group of family and friends, the woman is honoured and prepared for the significant event of birth and new motherhood. These ceremonies can be facilitated by Karen and held in either our private retreat space on the Sunshine Coast or in your own home.

The profound shift of motherhood etches a deep and lasting imprint on the life and psyche of a woman. Mothers face the significant demands of the outer life of the constant and practical needs of care for babies and children and often fail to have time to process the massive changes taking place on their inner life. As our children grow and change, so to does the job of mothering change. Finding a way to meet our needs as women amidst these demands and cycles of change is essential and when met with wisdom and understanding can in fact fuel enormous growth and spiritual development.
